Finally here, awesome as usual.

We are trying to pick a good northern dive site for tomorrow a.m. (Not in the park, though).

Any suggestions from anyone whose dove them recently?

Thx,
Liz

Taylor made and Candy land, take two tanks and do both while you are up there. Don't know where it is? Buy the shore diving made easy book and follow the direction exactly.

Already have the book, so we should be good 2 go. Thx for the recommendation.

If you go up to the end of the road past BOPEC there is a really easy entrance in front of the building. Just swim out past the break-water. It is worth the drive.

We just got back from Bonaire last night...did Candyland (awesome!) The road around the BOPEC tanks was longer and bumpier than I expected, but it was worth it! Gorgeous coral!

The tire mentioned in the book now marks the entry, btw.

We also did Karpata (had very calm weather, so it was do-able for us--finally!) and it was also quite lovely.

The ladder at Oil Slick is missing a wrung, but it's a good site. Saw an octopus and squid there.

LaDania's Leap, no trip is complete without us doing this dive. :-)

Hi Bill, hope to actually meet you someday! :-) LaDania's Leap is where we saw dancing turtles down under, I think they were courting each other, had no idea we were even there watching them.

Thanks everyone. We tried to get to Candyland but maybe took the wrong road? We actually stopped and asked the guard @ the Bopec place and he sent us up a dirt road. We ended up turning around eventually because the road we were on was pretty rough and we were really not sure it was the correct place. We ended up diving 1000 Steps today, and it was nice (well, except for the stairs....).

We are going to do La Dania's to Karpata later this week. Looking forward to it.

Debbie
Trying to get back in late July--with the economy who knows, also have a freshman in college, and having to do more with a parent---I guess this comes under the heading of "plan the event but not the outcome" !-- what's your schedule?

Liz...don't feel bad. I haven't found Candyland or La Dania's leap and I have tried to find both a couple of times. I just keep diving Karpata. :-)

Liz - that WAS the correct road. It goes up the hill, turns left (north), runs along behind/above BOPEC and then, with a spectacular view, goes back down the hill. The little coral road turnoff comes soon after you reach the coast again, past the little lagoon (interesting bird life).

Thanks for the explicit directions, Bill. We are going to give it another shot on Thursday. Tomorrow we dive with Bas, who will undoubtedly be able to get us everywhere much better than when we are left to our own devices!

Tribs....yep, I was sort of thinking Karpata, Karpata, Karpata at this point :-)

Bill, looking at Feb., August and maybe Nov. or maybe June this year, not sure about the last one, haven't decided on that one yet. First two all planned and done deal.

Never heard of Candyland.
Don't believe it's in BSDME.
Where do we find details about this one?

Candyland is right next to Tailor Made (south of it) - we hadn't heard of it before until Susan (BSDME author) told us about it.

Candyland is described in BSDME fifth edition on page 19.
