What are the water temperatures in early May, will a shorty or diveskin be sufficient?

I visit every year in May. Last May was a little cool at 79 degrees. I wore a 2mm with beanie and was comfortable. Previous years have seem temps closer to 81-83 degrees. Friends wear everything from a shorty to a 5/3, so it is up to you. Multiple dives per day will cool your core. It's easier to be a little warm and let cooling water into your wet suit than to not have enough on.

thanks for the input, sounds like I can get by with a dive skin, with a shorty worn over it.

By Quick Tribs, obviously not quick enough. (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #7300) on Friday, January 2, 2009 - 11:02 am: |
If you are shore diving, you might want a full skin with knee pads. I wear a 3mm. I did get chilly last May, but I was diving a lot (4-5 dives per day from mid-May until the end of June). I suggest the full suit just in case you take a tumble.
