We're off on the redeye from Houston next friday nite. Anybody have an idea of water temperatures? What kind of thermalwear is in fashion right now in underwater world?

Should be warm enough for just a skin. Coldest water is in March and April.

I eat oatmeal cookies before a dive, or other 'carbs', to stay warm.

Have fun!

Temps should be 82 or so. I wear a 3mm full length wet suit year round even at 84 degree water since I tend to get cold after multiple daily dives and for better protection. Last month people were wearing shorties, skins, swim suits, thongs, and heavier suits like mine. the exposure suit you wear is very individual. Enjoy as always - nothing better than BON, topside or under.

cheezy, freddie is on island, maybe she'll see this and give us a live report.

I'm like Dan..i wear a full 3mm, and actually a skin underneath...michael wears a skin (would like to just wear shorts and a t, but the stingy thingies get him)...

have fun!

actually I brought my 5mil cause I have a tendency at home {NE} to get cold
WHAT WAS I THINKING?? {said in my best white rug voice!!}
the temps have been as high as 86 on the surface to 82 at depth 60 feet,, I went in
t- shirt yesterday and I am going that way today as well ..bring a 3 mil for night dives or at the very least a skin for protection from critters.. tomorrow I will do a night UV dive with Bas Noij and I will wear my 5 mil..for protection if nothing else..

I've been at Buddy Dive for 3 days now and the ocean is quite warm: 84 to 85 at depth, warmer in some shallows. My 3mm wetsuit has been packed for the return trip. Diving in just a skin or a swimsuit is just fine!
