I know this is an ongoing conversation, but as it's been awhile since it's been addressed here we go again...

Has the ladder been replaced yet? If it hasn't is it going to be?

I really like that spot & although my diving for 2002 has been curtailed (achilles tendon surgery) I still like to dream of my faves until the next trip!

Count me in for the question too Thomas, hey Bas, you out there? Any islanders with a notion?

Soon I think! I spoke with the guy who is building the ladder. It is done and he is waiting for approval from the marine park.

I'll see if I can get an update from him.

That's right Scott. It's done. I've seen it in his truck after he went to test-fit the ladder. Some minor adjustments and it should be in soon. Hopefully some time next week. As soon as it's back in I'll post it here. And of course do a dive there :-)

Bas,
Last March there were 5 seahorses near the mooring in 15' to 30' of water..maybe you can find them again!

Excellent news, Bas, you are a credit to society! I had heard there was some concern about Oil Slick being overdived by shore divers and thus restricted to boat dives as being less abusive of the reef - if you've ever seen a boat disgorge divers there, you would wonder who thought that was the case.
Eleven days and counting, hope to meet and dive with Bas and other BTers, and taking every job that comes until then!

I hope the steps will be there soon again, because we donated some stainless steel. And indeed it is one of my favorite places too.
The steps were already there when I started to dive on Bonaire in 1974.
