Hi
Since I have no idea how to make this play on Bonairetalk I will just post a link. I think I first heard of this idea more than 10 years ago.
We will be on the AA flight tomorrow night.

Yes, it's a cool idea, but is it really worth spending $1500 for it? Not in my book. I think reading a console is more efficient and suspect that at that price 99% of divers would agree.

Hi
Vince, Yes very expensive at this point. Of coarse that would go down as time goes on. Everything electronic does for sure. When you consider the cost of a air integrated computer and a high level mask it takes a big bite out of the difference in cost.
As usual, time will tell.
Mick

I checked out this mask in the US this summer. Seems to me there are two major issues:

1. You have the dive data in your field of vision. I like to have corals and marine life in my field of vision. You need to push a button to switch the data field on or off or switch between screens. In my opinion it is just as easy to just look at your computer (especially if it is wrist mounted). When the data screen is NOT on there is a limited field of vision for you right eye.

2. Masks do generally break or wear down faster than a computer so the life span of this expensive solution might not be that great.

My feeling is that this might be great for military divers but not directly the greatest invention for sports divers.
