Yes, Curacao has a Klein too :-)
Tuesday morning, 4 divers were saved.
They were missing after a drift dive and had been in the water for 16 hours.
They were rescued by the Coast Guard and ‘Citizens Rescue Organization’ (CITRO. 2 miles east of Klein Curacao.
My "old" diving instructor, Eric Wederfoort, was a consultant.

The divers are all well.

I have sailed past Klein Curacao on the ferry Chogogo and it is quite a distance from Curacao, those divers were very lucky to be found.

Someone didn't do a proper head count after the dive :-(

They were going to make a 40 min dive, not deeper than 18m at the west side of Klein Curacao. They planned to end their dive at the beach. They started their dive at 16:14, from the beach, and had been diving there several times before.
After 11 minutes there was an unexpected undercurrent pulling them away from the island.
They aborted the dive immediately, surfaced and inflated their “divers below" buy to draw attention. Unfortunately their friends at the beach did not expect them to surface this soon and did not notice them.
After one hour their friends got worried and started to look for them in a boat. When they could not find them, they notified the coastguard. Since all 4 divers were missing they were almost sure it had to be a “current problem".
