Solo diver on island Aug 10 til the 17th. Staying at the Sand Dollar. What would you suggest for boat dives or shore dives since I need to meet a dive buddy?

Sandy, check with the dive shop at Sand $ and also check the post several down from this one, it is titled Meet a buddy. The Tropical Dive across from the entrance to Plaza ia hosting a place for divers to meet and make plans with other divers each morning around 9:30am (I think that is the time) Other than that all dives on Bonaire are good whether boat or shore.

Sandy..If you're diving solo & on a dive boat, they all have a dive master who goes into the water. Many time during the pre-dive briefing they always ask who doesn't have a partner, just raise your hand. They'll pair you with someone or simply just dive with the dive master.

Not wanting to generate any flames or debates, but I will also simply comment that it is NOT unheard of to merely go solo shore diving?

The entrance to Bari Reef from Sand $ could not be more user friendly, navigiating is not an issue and there's plenty see see at all depths from 25FSW down to 110FSW. Most times there are other divers enjoying the reef too.

I'm just sayin' - lol

Thanks Randy - just we needed.... just kidding. Solo diving all depends upon your comfort level, depth, training and back-up gear. I'm just saying'....

and Sandy - please do check out the thread below - looks like that might be a great option. We've never said no to anyone that has asked to join us while we are diving.
