Foreword
As mentioned on the cover, I have been actively engaged in wastewater matters since before my retirement from the hotel business in 1987, both in landscaping as well as treatment and hydraulic dispersion of our wastewaters.

I have been in wastewater irrigation and management, and from the beginning further have been trained not from only years of experience, but also by experts from abroad.

As an environmentalist, I deplore the current manner in which our wastewaters are handled. For my liking, too much is finding its way into our reefs.

I have chosen to write this pamphlet to you homeowners who could possibly understand the contents of this small booklet. I am a novelist and sometimes write with a bit of humor. Captain don/

SONIA

Some years ago while working on a very prominent property in Sabadeco, a value well exceeding one million dollars, I designed and built not only the garden but the massive irrigation system which gobbled up all its wastewater and more.

The owner’s wife named Sonia was as elegant as the very property itself. I always timed my puttering around the pool garden in the heat of the day when it was most likely Sonia would come to paddle about in the pool. Actually the pool in itself was a most magnificent thing; easily six feet deep and more than enough for a fine swim. But it seemed that Sonia preferred the shallows where her full body was not to be denied the rays of the sun to tan her whole of her body (excluding the strings of her bikini).

It was on a Monday the worst day of the week for me. There was an emergency call from Sonia's husband that the irrigation system had gone amuck over the weekend, and he being the richest man on the block insisted on immediate service.

My guy Pee Pee and I arrived at the house with our mobile work shop something just before noon. The husband was off diving or not home yet from an all night pajama party that he was famous for, leaving only Sonia and the three maids at home. I hated the place with its thick walls topped with broken bottles and closed gates whose 'open me' phones never worked.

Pee and I dragged out a large cylinder pressure tank which was filled one hundred percent with fecal effluent water over to the side of a walk way. It was still attached to a long heavy-duty hose. I looked at the pressure gauge and had a mild heat attack. One hundred twenty pounds was enough pressure to send the stuff all the way into town. Sonia seemed to like me. Maybe I reminded her of her Japanese gardener back home in New Jersey. She came over and started to hover around.

I glanced at the pressure gauge and warned. "Back, Madam." And Pee Pee got up off his knees and ran like hell. He was skilled at that this sort of thing and was lucky! The hole broke from the vertical iron pipe and a fountain of pure fecal effluent rocketed skyward.

I was kneeling aside the tank, and as it rained down none was to miss me. From the brim of my hat, hair, eye brows and moustache. Sonia was horrified as she stood watching. I looked up at her saying. “Ms. Sonia. I have always known what you looked liked.

And now I know what you taste like.”
