I bought my mother and her husband an Open Water Course for Christmas. It was an SSI course and unfortunately the instructor was very impatient. My mom figures he was doing a little boozing because he had the shakes and she could smell liquor on his breath. They ended up leaving the course during the pool session and so only completed their classroom and bookwork.

Anyway.... this puts us in the position of requiring open water instruction for 2 when we arrive in Bonaire on July 19. Can anyone recommend an instructor who is very patient and deals well with older divers (sorry mom).

My wife and I are both very experienced divers so they will be in good hands once they are certified. We just need to get the darn C-card. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Brent did anyone notify the dive shop of this item? Can they not use a different instructor at the dive shop? More Info would help with the said problems.

We(my wife and I) took the open water PADI course with Bonaire Dive and Adventure. Waldo Wolff was very patient and wonderful-we felt totally confident, safe and finished the course with no problems. I would highly recommend them.

Brent,

I'm looking for the same for my stepson. So far, I have emailed Wannadive and Black Durgeon per recommendations of folks, but no response after 2 weeks. Let me know if you figure this out. Thanks.

Bruce Bowker's Carib Inn.
I couldn't recommend him or his staff more highly.
Here is his site.

Thanks. I heard back from Nicole at Wannadive and they can provide the o/w dives for us. I tried Carib first as I love their operation as well, but no-one there can certify SSI only PADI.
