Heading down in early july and our group is staying at two of the apartments at lighthouse beach, was wondering if the shore diving right there is worth it? might be a good day to start off the day before heading out to do the other sites. Also would be nice to do night dives right where we are staying. Looking at the google earth images, it seems like it might be a pretty decent swim to the drop off, but anyone have any first hand knowledge, worth it, or better off packing up the trucks and heading to other places?

are you staying at a place right on the water (units 1-10)? if so, you can walk from your place to the entry. we live on the back row (11-24) and drive over to around unit 1. make sure you're not blocking a parking spot for anyone staying in those units. we enter at the sand area almost in front of #1. it's a bit of a swim out (maybe 100 yards)and sometimes there is a current. still, we've had good dives there and have seen green morays, eagle rays, lobster, etc.

Hi Gregory, Pat is right, I am also on the back row at LBR, but I would not recommend it for a night dive as it is not the easiest to get in and out of the water. I know Pat has dove it more than we have, but it is an o.k. dive, better in the summer months in my opinion.
