I know you will all cringe, but I am looking for jellyfish pictures, and pictures of stings for an article I'm working on. Full attribution will be given. I know Brian has some, any others? I'm also looking for what the sting looks like. Any volunteers to get stung and take some pics? lol!

Thanks,

Cynde

Let me know what you need, I have the BBBJ and a few others from Bonaire - thankfully though so far only a few stings but no photos (and no I'm not volunteering to try again!).

Thanks Brian! Any and all if you can please. Send them to moderators@bonairetalk.com. Also, how you would like attribution. If you can, on the photo put your name with a copyrite symbol:-)

Tribs...lol! When I'm done with this I'll be "published" again:-) It's been about 20 years since that's happened...lol! And, I do NOT want pics of you stung Tribs, although, it would be nice to give an example of what an allergic reaction looks like (just kidding).

I think this might be what you are looking for:

Jellyfish in Belize

These stings happened in Costa Rica

My wife vows to never wear a shorty again
leg 2

Now that I think about it, I did get stung last time in Bonaire. I don't think it was a jellyfish; maybe it was a bristle from a bristle worm or something. It happened at Town Pier and there were a lot of other divers there stirring things up. They also had a bad habit of shining their lights at other peoples faces/eyes... but that's another story.

Anyway, unfortunately the sting occurred inside my mouth between my reg and the inside of my cheek. I had several offers from my fellow divers to urinate on the affected area but I declined the offers. Instead I choose to swish a bottle of wine. Eventually the pain went away but I woke up with a headache the next morning.

Brent

Was it more than the one bottle of wine?

Brent, yes on the pictures! I'm sorry about your wifes sting...ouch. I may need them in high res, but I'll know when I get to work. My husband used to wear shorts and a tshirt when diving on Bonaire our first few years, then one trip a couple years ago he got stung by the things that look like strings and hang in the water column. His arms got hit pretty bad. On the next dives he would try to swoosh them away with his hands. The welts were really itchy, and went away within a couple of days. he now wears a full skin ;-)

BTW, how would you like the attribution?

Brian, I bet it was more than one, or at least that's the way I would go!
