I have never seen more than one Sharp Tailed eel at a time, but last night about 17:00 we saw 4 together. We presume a large female and 3 smaller males chasing her.

Nice shots. Only thing I have ever seen was the ever present Hog & soap fish hanging around that I caught video of.

Antony, I just HAD to look when I saw that title. And I wasn't disappointed - great shots, again.

Gradually she managed to shake off the pack until there was just one left, notice the bite mark on her head in the last picture. These shots were taken at La Machaca.

Angie

The Hog and Soap fish follow when Sharp Tailed Eels are feeding, these eels had little interest in food!!

Thanks Alex, lots of big surge waves today.

Nice shots Brian, thanks for sharing! My best to the missus.

Are the boys biting her on either side, or just have their heads on top?

I think the sharptail has the least vicious bite I've experienced thus far.

Wow, now I know why we didn't see any Sharptail Eels on Bari this year; they were all 'gathering' up at the La Machaca.
