Today, March 19th, at approximately 1:30 PM, we found some personal diving equipment in the parking area at Oil Slick Leap. We would love to return it to it's rightful owner.

We waited around for a while, went up to the Caribbean Club, reported it to their dive shop, went back and waited some more. We also told several divers and snorklers that we had found something and asked them to inform anyone that came along searching how they could reach us.

We are staying in Unit 8 of the Golden Reef Inn and if you or anyone you talk to has lost something today, please contact us there, or respond through this board. If you can identify the item, we would love to return it.

Way to go Sparty! Hopefully, you'll find the owner or vice versa. Keep us posted.

Sparty, if there is a marine park tag on any one of the items, you can bring the stuff to the Marine Park Headquarters, just up the hill from Oil Slick Leap. They can locate the owner from the tag number.

Did you find a pair of size 11 ankle high dive booties?
I am at the Carib Inn. I can pick them up anywhere, if you have them.

I'm sorry to report that I do not have your booties. I did see some booties setting to the right of the ladder/platform but they did not seem that large. In addition there was a dive mask with (hair strap?), black snorkel, and some fins near the platform that also seemed unattended since everyone else was in the water. However, since they were in a location where someone might have left them for a reason, I did not touch them. Still, I wonder if they were also "lost".

The item I found was in a location away from the dive platform and in a spot that could only be explained as having been dropped or having fallen from a vehicle.
