I have some PADI certified windsurf clients who will shore dive Wed. 1 PM. Given the fact that the cruise ships are in, please what dive site do you recommend for a shore dive? Thanks so much.

South sites Annie! No dive boats past Tori's reef, so any past there are all good ones. I would say Red Beryl would be an excellent one for them to shore dive! Tell them to enter and when they reach the drop-off, go to their right and then return, if there is a current, they can exit at Margate. Easy.

good choice for the south...

for the north (assume not stuck behind tour bus) try 1000 steps... or old blue if they have the time to drive back...

or just good old north belnem:-)

good luck,

I read that as "One day to live" and thought at first you were asking about that last dive, like that last meal ...
Phew!

I would second Red Beryl as a favorite of mine, regardless of Pod people. It's often a stunning dive.

Red Beryl has probably the easiest entry/exit of any of the southern dives. South is the only way to go if you want some privacy.

Uhhh I was there last Wednesday when the cruise ship was in and they were bussing them down to Red Slave to see the huts.... so no place is "safe" it would seem. That said Red Slave and Red Beryl were awesome also if they are into wrecks the Hilma Hooker is gigantic and a good dive.

Red Beryl is at the outflow of the salt collectors, just north of Atlantis. The reason entry is so easy is that you just get into the ditch and walk out into the ocean, and come back in the same way.

Annie, there are yellow stone markers with the names of the marked dive sites on them, Red Beryl is one on them. Going south, go past the Salt Pier, and keep going till you see the yellow stone marker that says Red Beryl. You will pass lots of dive sites before that, but when you pass the yellow stone that says Margate, Red Beryl would be the next one. Hope this helps.

Kelly, I know Anne lives on island, but I also know she doesn't dive, so may not be familiar with exact locations of the dive sites. :-) There are lots of southern dive sites and I am sure she wants to let her folks know just where it is.
