Greetings,

Does anyone know anything reliable about Dive Friends (Yellow Submarine/Photo Tour), especially at the Port Bonaire Resort? I am considering them as my dive operator for my two week stay in late March-early April. Their website has nothing on the crew or instructors, and this seems a little odd. I'd like to do at least my Advanced OW with them.
Thanks for any helpful information you might afford me.

Daniel

Daniel,
They are a terrific outfit and you need not worry about the level of training you will receive or the competence of the instructors. I, in fact completed my EFR/rescue training and advanced nitrox/decompression procedures with Leo (who, by the way I enthusiastically endorse as an instructor or person in general) there at the school this year. I'm still here on the island and will be here when you arrive to vouch for the folks there
in person.

By the way, I've got a friend down this week and he is in the middle of completing his advanced & rescue training there at the school as we speak.

Regarding the website being void of crew...well that's another story and the explanation has no effect on their level of instruction.

Also, the Port Bonaire location is strictly a tank pickup/dropoff point. All classes are held at the main location in town.

I hope this helps in your decision and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,
Bruce

been diving with photo tours/yellowsub since dec '92...as they moved around from caribbean club to port bonaire...

never got a leaky tank, was loaned scuba equipment when mine did not show up for a day, had my toe attended by doctor eddie when he was there;)

staff is nice, though has changed a couple of times...was at least one "hottie" there last dec:-)

good luck,

Daniel,

Yellow Sub.
The best.
I went looking for someone to teach me Freediving as I WAS a snorkeler. I had been fearful of diving for 10 years, within two weeks of being in the water with Leo I became interested in diving. I took the major PADI courses with Leo then on to TDI instruction for Nitrox and advanced Nitrox.
I will be doing Deco diving when I have developed my skills further.

The Wreck Diving course is another world, experienced on the Hilma Hooker Wreck. Do it ASAP!!!

The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly, respectful. You are very closely monitored for skills and are assisted appropriately.

I have been at the dive shop almost daily for 3 months and the level of service remains the same. Nothing taken for granted and continued recognition, respect and courteousness.

I can't say enough about the owner manager.
He's a hot commodity on the Island!!!!!!!!!!

Dive Friends Bonaire at the Yellow Submarine is the way Family should be!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buz
