Okay folks, I have one more day with the camera, and I promised my grandchildren I would try to bring back a photo of a seahorse, their favorite! Can anyone tell me where my best chances would be?

Slim to less than zero if you are looking, now if you can have some one show you the spot, pretty much 100%. Seahorses hardly ever move and stay in one spot for long periods (I've heard tell...years), so the trick is to find that one spot. You're best bet is to hire someone, like Renee or Dee or many DM's, to show you the spot.

I looked for years until I told a DM at the Divi and he took me right one. I'm too "noisey" of a diver so I was scaring them away.

I saw 4 sea horses on dives during the December 27-January 3 period (the good news). All but one were pointed out by Buddy Dive dive masters on boat dives -- one over at Klein. The one exception was the sea horse at 43' just to the left of Buddy Dive's dock, as you faced the reef, on Buddy's Reef. It was there for several days, seen by many, and gave me a GREAT picture -- posted elsewhere on this message board.

The DMs know where they are, you just may have to do some boat dives. Choose Klein or other no shore diving sites.

We almost always find more than one at oil slick. When you get in go north about 80-100yds and look in 20-40ft. There used to be an old tire there and a red sea horse just to the right of the tire.Happy hunting
