Renting a house for a week starting March 2. What do you all do about weight belts? Rent or take with you?

We take our own belts because we prefer the soft pocket style and found them easier to identify when boat diving. However, it is not necessary to take your own if you do not want to. The dive shops provide belts and weights as part of the dive packages.

Since we won't be staying at a dive resort we probably won't get a dive package. We might do one dive a day and was thinking of just picking up a tank/belt when needed. If you take your belt with you where do you pack it or is it in your take on bag?

Greg,
We pack a lot of our dive gear in our carry on; BC, mask, swimsuits, computers and regulators. If you're not doing a dive package I would still ask for a weight belt and weights at the facility you will rent tanks from. I love the soft weight belts but never pack mine; BC is weight integrated.
It's easy, breezy just to get one there and you won't have one more thing to stuff into any luggage :-)

Greg, If your BC is weight integrated, you won't notice the diff between soft & lead weights. I use the soft weights at home and can't tell any diff when I load up the lead weights while on vacation.
Have a good trip!
