A few of us are going down in May for a girls-only dive trip/vacation (without our usual dive buddies - spouses), and would like to have a guide go with us on the first day or so to get us comfortable with shore diving some of the spots we haven't done before.

We had a specific dive instructor on the last trip and are comfortable with him. We would like to use the same person on our next trip.

Do we just email the specific shop ahead of time to coordinate? Can anyone tell me if this is regularly done and if the dive shops are cool with this? Or do the shops prefer to just set you up with whoever they have available on the day you want a guide?

Liz, if the specific instructor is not available, Ebby or Bas N. are dive guides you can hire to go shore diving with you. I've dove with Ebby twice, and highly recommend him.

Boat Chick, We have also used Ebby several times. We dove with him through Toucan Divers but they told us that he dosen't work for them anymore. Where can we find him now?

I was in Bonaire with my two daughters for the first time in August. Did't want to go with the usual gang of 12 or more so I contacted Bas Tol through Bonaire Talk. We had the time of our lives! Bas is the most layed back and friendly guy you would want to meet. The dive sites are his back yard and he loves to take you on the tour.
