I read a post elsewhere about diving at christmas time in Bonaire. They said that it is very windy at this time of year and difficult to do shore dives. Is this true? Are there certain parts of the island that are less windy at this time of year?

Hi Nancy welcome to BT. It is always windy on Bonaire with exception of the occasional wind reversals in late summer. On the leeward side were most of diving is done you won't have a problem. Some of the North sites such as Karpata may be better to dive in the morning before the waves build up. Basically check the conditions and if you feel comfortable do your dive, if not then chose another dive site.

I was there at Christmas, and some of the sites were a bit beyond me, to tell you the truth. But these sites were in the far north and far south--and there are PLENTY of other sites in between!
