Hi all,
All but 2 of my dives in Bon have been shore dives, and when my dive shop goes in March, we have a package with Buddy Dive with 6 boat dives.

The boat is willing to go where we want, so I'm trying to get some suggestions for good (preferably not accessible by shore) dives. Of course Klein is on the list - but is there anyone who dives Klein alot who has recommendations for specific sites? How about other non-Klein boat dives?
Thanks in advance!

Tom, Patrick, and Timmmmy -
Thanks buds, I was thinking Rappel myself, but it's good to know you give it that high a recommendation:-). I'll have to remember Forrest and Hand's off too... I'm forwarding this list to my dive shops leader for the trip.
THANKS!!!:-)
(I wish I was going sooner, too... but 53 days will have to do, LOL:-))

I would agree with Forest and Hands off, I would add Knife where we have seen Golly for two years running and maybe No Name for Turtles.

Thanks for the Golly tip, Brian. I'd give anything to see "her". When in March are you going??

Thanks too, Gregg for your input!:-)

Lots of good choices from folks. Have been diving in Bonaire for many years. If I have to pick only six I would dive LaDania's Leap and Karpata (north). Margate Bay (south). Forrest, SW Corner(Klein). Last is a drift dive on east side of Klein. DM will know. Really nice.

Hiya Becky --

We'll be doing some boat dives on our second trip, as well. (It's funny, but to date we have not dived out of a boat -- thermal altitude and shore has been the norm)

Is it worth it to get a boat out to 1000 steps, or should we just slog it like everyone else? ;)

Hiya Laura:-)
I've never done 1000 steps as a dive site so I'm not sure... hopefully someone can answer that for you.

I'll let you know which ones we end up doing and how they were so you can plan your trip:-)

Glad to see you back!

hi, snowfire and becky...1000 steps isn't as bad as you'd think. as i remember there are only 72 steps from the beach to the road. we're in our late 50's and do it pretty regularly. we've found it's best to gear up at the road, walk down, do the dive, and climb back up with your gear on....altho we have seen people carrying their gear down in two trips. for me, it just feels more balanced with the weight on my back.

i would only do boat dives for sites on klein and a few others that can't be done from shore at all.

Thanks Pat - that's my plan as well - only do boat dives to places that can't be done from shore. I figure with all the accessible shore spots, why waste time going to one of them by boat - but I'm funny that way. :-)
