Sounds to me like you are promoting a commercial venture for yourself which is not allowed.. Shame on you.

Bob, do you get any financial gain from having more divers on the trip? You'll get in trouble with the mods here... you need to be more specific and not do any self promotion. There is an icon for posting rules, you should probably check it out.

This is ridicolous, are you folks divers or complainers, I have been waiting 2 years for airfare to drop so I could afford this trip again. I am a college student and Public Safety Diver, all I was trying to do was offer what I had spent many days searching for to others. Two years ago I was able to go and been wanting to ever since, I am not making anything on this, I am not a dive shop, just wanting to help others as PSD's do, I cant believe it!

Bob, your profile says you are a small business owner, not a college student.

Bob welcome to BT.

Don't take it to heart this is a friendly board that has had some attempted abuse by business's in the past.

Maybe there should be a thread for people who are looking for others to join in to form a group - Just an idea

Bob, Brian is correct, it sounded as if you might be trying to sell the trip, that's all. I was told that the Mods are trying to work out a way to pull it off, but it's a very complicated process.

"I have been waiting 2 years for airfare to drop so I could afford this trip again."

Me thinks you waited too long. Fares were just as low or lower 2 years ago. The recent price of jet fuel has caused them to go up. Or you set up a package deal on your own and are looking for willing participants to fill a void(just a guess). The rules are there for a reason. BTW, I don't complain, I just dive! I've got the log book to prove it!

Smack

i checked airfares within the last few days. i was interested in what continental would charge for the cleveland-newark-bonaire route. i think it was about $650 rt. as i remember, when we first went to bonaire about 12 years ago we paid $635 rt so the continenal fare is pretty reasonable.

Bob, I know several dive shops that offer trips, then in turn the trip "leader" gets his trip free or at a drastically reduced rate if enough people sign up. It sounded like that was what you are proposing.

We were just trying to keep you from getting in trouble with the moderators. We are not complainers, we are Bonaire lovers !!!

OK, I am not sure what the confusion is here, But Once again I have zero affiliation with any dive shops. I am a small business owner, full time masters student, Air National Guard member, Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, the list goes on call me if you need my resume 217-433-0158. Two years I have been watching airfares, I last went to Bonaire in 2005. Just wanting to help others get a good deal on Bonaire, throw out some prices what you all have been paying! How could you think I was making money as that price, every dive shop around here charges near $2000! Call Neal Watson ask them what there share is ($1037 for the package), but does not include departure taxes, marine preservation, and other nickle and dime items! Just quessed at a total price, I would refer you to Beth since I have the trip set up, and you go directly through her, ask her if I get anything out of this, heres the number 1-800-327-8150.

Well put Bob. I agree with you, but BT have some old rules in place to protect us from being blasted with offers from every Tom-Dick, and Harry. Again changes are in the wind, but it's just a breeze at this point.

Actually Pat if your route cost was $635 12 years ago and is $650 today then it is considerable cheaper today after inflation.

Hi Bob, rub temples for the duration of a 180 degree standard rate turn...helps to relax.
