Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I am planning a dive trip to Bonaire and would like to volunteer my time while I am there.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes there are many opportunities to volunteer! Just a few suggestions are:

Zuster Maria Hoppner House (home for boys). They always need donations, supplies, etc. They also love for you to bring KFC chicken or pizza to the boys. It is a special treat.

The Turtle Conservation Project. I don't know what's going on right now, but at times you can volunteer to go with them to Klein Bonaire to help count turtle nests! Very cool.

The animal shelter. Who doesn't love to spend time with our furry little friends? They love the special attention.

I encourage you to contact any of these places ahead of time to make arrangements to volunteer, and/or to see if there is anything of a specific nature they need.

There are plenty more options, I'm sure others will chime in with their suggestions!

I've had some wonderful moments at the Animal Shelter, the animals just need petting!!! I'm a cat person, and I miss my kitties when I'm gone, so I go there for my kitty-fix!

Also, the boys at the Maria Hoppner House were SO appreciative when we brought in a meal for them (they LOVE KFC!!) It was fun to eat with them and play games with some of them afterwards.

Sloane, welcome to Bonaire Talk All good suggestions. go here, Bonaire Non-Profits. It describes each organization and has links on how to get in contact with them. Make sure you contact them in advance, so they can schedule you to volunteer. Often some folks show up to volunteer and for some of the organizations, it takes pre-planning to divide duties and scheduling.
