Tonight is the last for the October spawning - has anyone seen anything over the past few days?

Didn't see anything, but we were diving early evening. Maybe next year.

I looked every evening Oct 8-12, with the last two evenings being dives around 2100-2200h. Nothing. The only things I saw were touch-me-not sponges smoking in the late afternoon Oct 11.

We didn't see any coral spawning either. maybe everything happened in september, that was really something! but we did see some sponge brittlestars spawn. Brian, i now understand what you meant last month with "disco dancing brittlestars" , they really know how to shake their bodies, that was great!

Thanks for the update, really interesting about what does or does not happen around these times.

We made 4 night dives last week. 3 were early (7 to 8pm) and 1 a couple of hours later. We were not diving to see the spawning, so we were not following the published schedule. Perhaps that is why we did not see any take place.

If things were happening you would see it. Very interesting that little was seen as the September Full moon was fairly early in the month.
