I found a wallet with Video club card and how about a frogfish inside a discarded shoe at salt pier. Normally I always have one of - beer bottle, plastic cup, fishing weight/rope/ hook and big smile after the dive.

Let's see...after Lenny, I found a cash register (empty), t-shirts, sandals, dive knife, sunglasses. Yikes.
In NorCal, the best thing I ever found was a handmade nail in an area where whaling vessels used to anchor.
Eric finds everything...dive knives, dive lights, dive watches, fins, too many weight belts. He's just j=kind of naturally lucky.

Used bullet casings...but they were everywhere because it seems that a particular wreck in the Bimini area was used as target practice. Is that anything like hitting the broad side of a barn?

But seriously folks, I did get to see Jacque Cousteau's snorkle!!! No, really! The guy charged me $50.00 to guide me to it, but I think it was worth it...money well spent...here is a photo

snork

I am now in serious negotiations with him regarding the purchasing of bridges, oceanfront property (in Arizona no less) and something called "swamp land" (sounds like a local term).

Cam:

To that end, I had an incident in Belize. I was diving with my brother and I was wearing my normal set up (that includes a pony bottle & reg). My brother notices a grouper trying to eat something round and blue.

He grabs it (thinking it is trash) and puts it in his BC pocket.

About five minutes later, he starts laughing. The whole front of pony reg is pretty much gone -- the cover is gone and no diaphram.

David
A buddy of mine is a commercial diver in Indonesia...they have to spray paint all of their tools black, because the groupers go after them...one of his team had a grouper (which went after a wrench) take his arm up to his armit into it's mouth...freaked the guy out severely

shoe

and a joke to boot;)

THREE BLONDES

Three Blondes were all applying for the last available position on the
Texas Highway Patrol. The detective conducting the interview looked at the three of them and said, "So y'all want to be cops, huh?"

The blondes all nodded.

The detective got up, opened a file drawer and pulled out a folder.
Sitting back down, he opened it and pulled out a picture, and said, "To be a
Police officer, you have to be able to detect. You must be able to notice
Things such as distinguishing features and oddities such as scars and so forth."

So saying, he stuck the photo in the face of the first blonde and
Withdrew it after about two seconds. "Now," he said, "did you notice any
Distinguishing features about this man?"

The blonde immediately said, "Yes, I did. He has only one eye!"

The detective shook his head and said, "Of course he has only one eye
In this picture! It's a profile of his face!

You're dismissed!"

The first blonde hung her head and walked out of the office.

The detective then turned to the second blonde, stuck the photo in her
Face for two seconds, pulled it back and said, "What about you? Notice
Anything unusual or outstanding about this man?"

"Yes! He only has one ear!"

The detective put his head in his hands and exclaimed,"Didn't you hear
What I just told the other lady? This is a profile of the man's face! Of
Course you can only see one ear! You're excused too!"

The second blonde sheepishly walked out of the office.

The detective turned his attention to the third and last blonde and
Said, "This is probably a waste of time, but......" He flashed the photo in
Her face for a couple of seconds and withdrew it, saying, "All right, did you
Notice anything distinguishing or unusual about this man?"

The blonde said, "I sure did. This man wears contact lenses."

The detective frowned, took another look at the picture and began
Looking at some of the papers in the folder. He looked up at the blonde with a
Puzzled _expression and said, "You're absolutely right! His bio says he wears
Contacts! How in the world could you tell that by looking at his picture?"

The blonde rolled her eyes and said, "Well, Helloooo!

With only one eye and one ear, he certainly can't wear glasses."

When I was a newbie, I carried a knife attached to my leg (what a rookie). Like they will always do, given half a chance, the knife came out and was lost. I did end up with a nice knife holder. The knife was lost in the muckiest lake in NH, which means that knife will not be seen in this epoch.

Jump forward three weeks and I am cruising the bottom of Lake Winnisquam looking at the moonscape mud bottom. I spot a lobster claw sticking up out of the mud bottom. I think what the hell is a lobster claw doing in a fresh water lake miles from the ocean. I get closer and it is a 3" long half of a claw, so I grab it and pull and out comes a 8" blade dive knife. It was sticking blade up down in the mud. It fit the knife holder perfectly. The sea (or lake) takes away, the sea gives back.

Of course it now has a permanent home in my extra/emergency gear bag. I do bring it on most trips because it is a useful tool to have around. We used it in Tahiti to break up fosilized pork rinds for the fish.
