Hello all,

We will be going to Bonaire for the first time soon and staying at Buddy Dive Resort. We will be doing shore dives only for the week (no boat dives that is).

My question is, where do people usually store their scuba equipment while staying at Buddy's? Does the resort provide safe gear lockers for nightly storage for all divers? Anything in particular with respect to the Buddy Dive Resort and things we should bring to help in our scuba adventure for the week?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

Martin - There are storage lockers at Buddy's. They were all reserved out when we got there so I didn't get a good look at them but if my memory serves me correctly I think they were in a common area with a door on the outside that was locked at night text removed by moderators. Someone please correct me if I am wrong because we did not use the lockers.

We hung up our gear on our patio until it dried out a bit then normally hung all of our equipment except wetsuits in the bathroom. I'm sure the maid's hated us.

There is a large gear storage room at Buddy's. It is open during the day and locked at night, but guests can access it 24/7. There are pegs on the walls and bars above to hang wetsuits. In our eight or so stays at Buddy's, we've always left our stuff in the gear room with no problems. It's so convenient, the dock and rinse tank are only steps away, but I do know of people who are more paranoid/cautious (take your pick!) who bring their equipment back to the room.

Just back from there last week. There are 2 storage areas as referred to in this thread.

The room down by the water and the lockers by the drive thru area. We used both at various times depending on where our dives were or were going to be.

The lockers by the drive thru were very convenient and there are also rinse tanks there especially since we did all shore diving and drove through for tanks. There are only a limited number of lockers so ask for a key right when you check in with the dive shop. We took our regs to our room anyway because our computers are integrated and we want to enter our info to our logbooks and they are the most sensitive and expensive as well.

Thanks everyone ... we had a great week at the Buddy Resort and found the lockers at the drive thru filling station to work well.
