My target fish this year is the batfish, which has eluded us for the past 13 trips. Anyone seen one recently? Any sites where we should concentrate our search?

Always enjoy finding seahorses and frogfish of course. Any comments on where these are hiding this year would be welcome.

I hadn't thought of that, so I did a search, and found some places they were last year. Maybe they will be someplace near where they were. The pictures indicate that they should be easy to see on the sand, but we have spent many hours searching mainly Front Porch and Yellow Submarines' beach to no avail! Can't wait to start the search again this year - and see all the other wonder fish there as well.

I spotted one at Bari reef last October 2005. It was in about 40 feet of water when I spotted it and descended to about 75 feet where it sat an a sandy spot on the sloping wall just to the South of the Sand Dollar / Adventure Dive pier. UGLY but very beautiful to get some shots of....I'm no expert but will try to post a photo.
