I have heard many negative things about the dive sites in the Washington/Slagbaai National Park. Are there any sites that are especialy worth diving or offer unique features. We have just one week in bonaire to dive this may. I am a fairly new diver but very comfortable in the water; have dove 1 week in bonaire and a hadful of lake dives (tried to dive last nov in florida but the weather prohibited that).

How many dives per day are you planning to do? Who are you travelling with? The park is nice for sightseeing even if you don't dive there. There are enough other great sites in Bonaire with easy access that, if you don't dive in the park, you haven't missed much.

As a beginner diver, it would be best to dive in the park with a more experienced person. If you haven't done entries off coral rubble strewn shoreline, it can be tricky. Regardless of where you shore dive, you'll want booties. You can experience some current at Boca Bartol and if you miss the entry site on your return, it's easy to get disoriented. At most shore dives, you don't have to be very careful about learning landmarks along the shoreline. But in the park, you do.
