Sorry to create a post that assuredly has been posted many times but I have to ask it: Is there a significant difference in the quality of diving in Bonaire between January and March?

No, I do not think so.
The only thing I can think of is the difference in number of divers (tourist) on the island. In general the beginning of January is slow and in March it can be "busy"

Welcome to the board.
I have dove Bonaire in June, July, Dec and March and I don't recall any noticeable difference except a few deg of water temp.

the dive quality should be the same, or close to it, in january or march. we plan our winter trip for about 10 weeks starting in early february and staying till the end of april. that way we can enjoy carnival too. it is a little more crowded in march since a lot of dutch are on holiday that month...but bonaire crowded is not the same as key west crowded. last winter water temps ranged from 78 to 81F. you are a little more likely to get more rain in january than march.

Thanks for all of your input and for telling me what I wanted to hear. This is going to be the first year in a long time that I haven't had to plan my vacation around my own or my girlfriends spring break. It will be nice to get out of Minnesota in February.

the toughest part about ten weeks is leaving. but i've found that's the toughest part about a one week stay too. we're leaving for bonaire in less than 12 hours...can't wait. this time tomorrow night we'll be just about settled in for a few weeks.
