Question for the board:
Has anyone had any problems flying out of JFK and/or Bon while packing a Spare Air container?
I purchased the "Travel Pack" that indicates the FAA allows the Spare Air in checked luggage if empty, with the reg. removed.
Any info.
Thank's
Mitch

I used the travel pack, and included several copies of the TSA policy regarding tanks in the checked luggage it was packed in. No prob for me on that trip, anyway.

I travel with a 13 cuft pony with the tank valve out and have had no problems.

I pack mine with reg out and TSA policy taped to it. No problems but the bag always gets rummaged through by TSA. Cylinders and batteries will usually do that. Last time it looked like the bag was checked by an excited german shepard.....it was all really tossed up. Batteries untaped and dumped out of the ziplocks etc.

Thank's everyone. You can always count on help from the people from Bonaire Talk.
I assume that the FAA Regulations you refer to is the sheet taped to the plastic bag that is part of the "Travel Pack" from Spare Air? The heading is "Instructions for Flying with Spare Air." I wished they had just included it, rather than taping it to the plastic. Makes it hard to photocopy!
Thank's again,
Counting the days to Bon.

Mitch
