We're leaving tomorrow for Bonaire to join our friends for a week on their sailboat, and hopefully dive our brains out. Our friends are already there, on their boat in the mooring field, just south of the Harbor Village marina between town and Klein Bonaire. They said most shops don't like renting tanks to cruisers (I think they do have some tanks on the boat), so they bought an air fill card that gives 50 fills for $100. But the air fills are only available between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

Are there any other places to get air fills outside these times? Or other places we would be better off renting tanks or getting air fills?

I think the marine park rules are that you have to have your own tanks to dive from a private boat, so I do not think operators would supply you with tanks. As far as getting tanks filled outside of normal business hours, no place that I've ever heard of would be open. Tanks are filled during the day.
