ok guys, leaving wed for our 7th trip to bonaire, there are two obj this year, one is to relieve the island of amstel brite and the other to phot the elusive sea horse and frog fish, so give it up guys.....where are they, we promise to just take a very few pic, won't traumatise them with 50 flashes....please send detail directions where you have them staked out.....also if you see us come up a say hello, i'll be the one in his 40's, ok late 40's, ok only have 10 days left to say that, who shouldn't be in those speedos he's in, accompanied by a very pretty "coon ass" and before anyone north of the mason dixon gets affended, that's a terms of endearment for anyone born of cajus blood in south louisiana....and who said a man wouldn't stop and ask for directions?

The best way to see the little guys: move very slowly. Diving is not a race. The slower you go, the more amazing tiny (and big) critters you will spot.
Jerry's Reef (also known as Jerry's Jam and Ebo's Special) has two frog fish in the region near where you will do your safety stop.
Bonaventure has two sea horses in the region of the mooring.
North Belnem and Petrie's Pillar also have two sea horses each. Petrie's Pillar is between Andrea I and Small Wall and was reopened not too long ago. The sea horses were last spotted some distance north of the mooring. I think the North Belnem ones are south of the mooring, but it's been a while.
There are lots of other dive sites where sea horses and frog fish have been spotted, of course. And they do NOT stay put. So directions won't help you as much as moving slowly and really looking at everything around you. The less distance you cover, the more you will see. :-)
Enjoy your 7th! Better watch out, Monty. You're getting up there into the count when you will start planning to move down here.
Tish

Montey, another way is to ask the folks at the dive shop. I've only seen frog fish twice, and that was because Martin at Buddy's knew where they were and he showed me. I've found sea horses on my own, however, it was because the DM's told us where to look...my point? be nice to the dive shop folks and bribe them! LOL!

Have a great trip dude!

Was at Invisibles snorkeling the day before yesterday, A wonderful eagle who loves to show off. Also, 3 cowfish who loved to follow him around. I hear that there is a frog fish right off Eden Beach Resort, pinkish purple in color I think. Walk in by small local style boat. They say he hangs out by some purplish coral, about 60 feet I think. Good luck and enjoy!
