I have heard that the Bonaire National Marine Park fee is going up from $10 to $25 on April 1. Is that true? While I a huge supporter of the Park and all the fine conservation work they do, a 2.5-fold increase in fees seems like a big jump. Not that much considering my total vacation budget, but it will be an increase from $50 to $125 for my family. Have they offered an explanation as to why that increase is necessary? Does it have to do with declining numbers of tourist-divers?
