I'm buying my first wetsuit, for when I go to Bonaire over and over again. I'm trying to decide between an Akona 3M full, Henderson Hyperstretch 3M full & Henderson Gold 3M full. Any suggestions and/or comments.

Thanks,
Mike

Myself, my wife and my sister-in-law all went with the Henderson Hyperstretch. Some favorable comments on Bonaire Talk and scuba lab reviews in Scuba Diving magazine led us to this decision. Seems like they are easier to get on and off.

Mike, IMO, You are comparing apples and oranges. If you are looking for a decent budget suit the Akona wins. If you are looking for a very comfortable and good fitting suit, the Henderson Hyperstretch wins hands down.

Hi Mike I'll add my two cents to this... I have the Gold Henderson and I wouldn't have any other kind.. the gold dries VERY fast..and it glides on your body as long as your body is dry!! if your body is wet then just get in the water or under the shower and it will go right on...When we first started to travel and dive I had a skin with fleece inside.. that baby never dried and is probably STILL wet someplace in the basement...hthymmv

On the internet we found a shop in Cyrstal River Florida that made custom suits with slick stuff liners for the same price as Hendersons. We have been happy with them.

Hey Freddie,

Well you just saved me a lot of hassle. I was going to look for a fleeced line skin... maybe not now. Going to take a look at the hyperstretch. Need to get something I can use for snorkeling now and diving later.

Hey Tom!

Do you know if the hyperstretch comes in a shortie?

Hugs to all!

Liz

My husband loves his Henderson gold. You might want to consider a 2-piece suit instead of a full suit. This will give you more versatility. I found in Bonaire's 80 degree water, I only needed the shorty during the day & added the long part for night dives.

Liz, Yes Henderson does have shorties in its' Hyperstretch line.

See: http://www.hendersonusa.com/product_hyperstretch.html
for more information.

Freddie is right. These suits will slide on easy, as long as the suit and user are both either dry or wet.
