Had a wonderful drift dive from La Dania's to Karpata and about half-way through a beautiful manta passed through in the shallows. Probably a 8-10' wing span and beautiful coloring...totally awesome. Took some video of it but will have to wait until we get home before being able to put it on the forum....

Great news, James! I saw my first manta at 1000 Steps snorkeling back in to shore. It was just cruising by and about the same size of yours. Scared me to death as I was not expecting to see one while snorkeling. Never saw one on a dive yet, but was so happy to witness the ease and grace of such a beautiful creature! Can't wait to see your pictures, I didn't have a camera when I saw mine, so I will wait to see yours! :-)

You are very privileged to have seen one. None for me, yet.

Hi Mary,

Don't despair! It took me over 9 years to see my first one! You just never know. My husband has yet to see one as well. We went diving with Larry and a couple days before they all saw a 12 ft. one and then we go and not a one, but saw a nurse shark instead. Still was a great dive.

My son and his fiancée saw one on their first OW dive.

There is just no justice!

That's great James! I know it's a thrill to see one.
I had to travel all the way to Yap, Micronesia to see my one and only manta. Maybe I'll get lucky the next time I'm in Bonaire.
