We are experienced divers, we used to dive with Bon Bini, which would be the best for us? Any ideas?

We really like WannaDive. Laid back, easy to use, easy prices, nice folks, good wash tank, handy wheelbarrows. Having said that, never been to Buddy's so what do I know?

Rent a car with a trunk in which you can lock up stuff and do shore diving. Rent tanks and wt. belts.

Julia, Not knowing what you are looking for from your dive operation, I can only say that for the past 5 visits to Bonaire I have dove with WannaDive. On at least three of my prior trips I dove with Buddy. During my return in October 2005, I am hoping to again arrange my dives through WannaDive.

E-mail me if you have any other questions.

How is life with Oscar?

Julia,

You will enjoy Wannadive they are a great bunch but they are all mad, quite mad! you will love them. Apart from that they run a safe, professional and friendly operation but still keep the fun in diving. In fact they insist on it.

As well as their main shop at Eden Beach they have a shop by the town pier where they have a weekly drinks evening.

Have a good trip.

Dave

Hi Julia,

I've stayed at Buddy and used their shop. I thought they were just fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, good boats and staff and a terrific house reef. The drive-up tank exchange is super convenient, air or nitrox. I have no immediate idea what shape their dock is in after the storm damage though.

I reckon just about ALL full service dive shops on Bonaire are competitive in price and quality. One variable would be convenience relative to your lodging. If you do a lot of diving you don't want to have to do a lot of driving just to exchange tanks.

Having used both, I would make up my mind based on where I was staying and/or Nitrox. If you are staying at Lions Dive or Buddy, then Buddy for sure. If you are using Nitrox, Buddy has the better setup. Otherwise it's a toss up. I like both ops, both have great people and either would be fine.
