For those divers who have used Larry's more then once, if you could explain the trip from start thru finnish. Will be in Bonaire for one week only and it seems like two Larry's in a week is what a lot of people think. I'll have two buddies along and want to sell them the idea with as much info as possible. Thanks for your help. This will be my fifth trip to Paradise so I want to kick it up a notch.

Been diving with Larry during the Xmas week three times; ie three 2-tank dives in the mornings. On the first day the winds were completely down, which gave us the unique occasion to go up north to the Spelonk area. Wrecks, anchors, many lobsters and beautiful u/w landscapes over there, plus the notion that you dive where not many others have been diving before.
Both on the first and the 2nd day we went to the Blue Hole, a very special sand-hole right on the reef near Sorobon. Lots of tarpon and other fish. I could go there repeatedly without getting bored. Beautiful way-out over lots of sea-fans, moving forth and back in the surge.
On all three days the "menu" so to speak was: start with a drift-dive along the outside of the reef, and visit the blue hole if there is no one on board having a better idea. The last of our three days we did two drift dives, because the visibility in the blue hole was expected to be not so good. On the drift dives we saw eagles rays, turtles, morays, lobster, and lots of smaller stuff.
Larry and his "aide" deliver a very high quality product. We have been diving a lot of places, including rough ones (barrier reefs, strong drift dives) but Larry beats them all when it comes to safety, hardware, speed, control, personal attention etc. We loved every minute of the six dives with him last month, and when we come back we will again include him in our schedule. Hope this is enough of an answer. Pictures (u/w) available, will post a report soon.

There are other posts on the diving and procedures. On one of the posts there is a picture of the boat. Dove with him in Oct. It's a must do on the list. You suit up before you leave Lac Bay where it's calm. Backward rolls to get into the water and a ladder to get back into the boat. The boat is great! I wanted to see where all the eagle rays live. It's an easy drift dive. The Blue hole was very different and interesting. If you have specific questions, just ask. Sue

We were in Bonaire over the Christmas Holidays. (Our 6th year) We dove with Larry 1 day (2 dives). If you have time, I would recommend going 2 days (4 dives). Diving with Larry & Martin is great! Larry runs a tight operation and is very safety conscious.

When we arrived, we took our gear to the dock. After setting up our tanks, Martin loaded them on the boat. Larry has a set way of setting up your gear on the boat and it works great. Your tank is secured in a specific place and your fins are right at hand. Larry has the orange inflatable sausages to clip to your BC if you don’t have one.

The briefing is given before you go through the reef – you suit up and you’re ready to go. Everyone does a backwards roll off the boat. There is really no walking on the boat in order to do a backwards roll. Just stand up, pivot and sit on the inflatable sides. You do a backwards roll when Larry indicates it is time to go.

The dives were great. Martin keeps an eye out for unique things to show you. He does a great job of being a dive master without being constraining. He makes sure everyone does their ascent on the drift dive at the same time. We went to the white hole for our second dive. Very interesting – LOTS of tarpon, a huge porcupine fish, and turtles. On the way back to the boat, we found an octopus out in the open. I think I took 20 pictures. Awsome!

Definitely plan on diving with Larry – it is a great operation. Larry gives you a chance to see “the other side of Bonaire” and it is well worth it!

Make sure to tell Martin his wetsuit boots are pink on the bottom – he say’s they are red but the are the prettiest pink I’ve ever seen.

Drift dive 77 for 52 min with 1000 psi left. It's a drift dive so everyone adjusts their depth for a 45 min dive. The hole was 41 for 53 min with 1300 psi left. Again everyone is there for 45 min.

Had to get out my logs to look. The drift dive was 81 ft for 51 min. The White Hole was 42ft for an hour!!

I forgot to mention that it is so easy to get back onto the boat after the dive. Larry has a zodiac. He deflates art of the inflatable side and positions a very strong ladder there. You just walk right onto the boat - very easy. After everyone is aboard, Larry stows the ladder and repositions the inflatable piece and inflates it. I was impressed with his whole setup.

Can someone tell me if this is the same Larry Martin that lived in Galveston, TX. He was my dive instructor and I'm looking to get contact information for him. Can someone send me an e-mail address if this is the same person. Thank you.
