David,

My wife and I always wore skins and a 3/2 full length wet suit. I probably could have gotten by with the skin alone, but I like having the protection of the full wet suit (especially if I'm anywhere near fire coral). On our first trip to Bonaire, which happened during the month of march, I would gladly have worn my 7mm full suit on our night dives. After doing 4 dives per day for 6 days my core body temp had dropped and I was absolutely freezing when the sun was down.

I always figured that if I got a little warm, I could just pull open the collar on my suit and let in some fresh 80 degree water.

Michael

David (Johnson),

Thanks for posting the link to last weeks discussion. This is a topic that comes up every once in a while and has been discussed at length.

David (Lang),

The best thing to do to find more discussion threads about it is to just do a keyword search for more info. I'll leave you with the same philosophy I use for everyone else. It's always good to have the skin/suit along just in case. You never know. :-)

I brought my 3/2, as did my wife. She wore it the whole week, and was glad she did. I never took it out of the suitcase, and was glad I didn't. Never once did I even get chilled. Totally depends on the individual. Especially on the shore dives though, I am glad I didnt wear it. To me, its too much of a hassel to take, put on, take off.

Temps were 81-82 the whole week.
