Last year when diving La Machaca we noticed that some fisherman were using a grapple as an anchor. This tore up a sponge when the anchor was raised. We took a photograph and reported the boat as they are supposed to use a stone anchor which causes less damage to the reef.

I notice in Bonaire News 11th June 04 that a fishing boat pulled up their anchor near BOPEC and found it had snagged a BC complete with tank.

This suggests that they may have been using metal anchor - Have the Park rules changed?

A Total Car Rental key was found in the BC pocket, as this is next to Karpata has this been linked to missing divers?

Not by me at least, I have two concerns one is fishermen damaging the reef, and the other some closure on the story of the Ennis family who lost a father and son at Karpata. I will repost on what should have been the main topic.
