I would like a list of favorite places to dive, and the aprox. depths, what we might expect to see there, as well as the best time to dive there early/midday/night..
I know i have read lists of peoples favorites, but i wanted a thread i could just print to take with me. thanks

You won't get everyone to agree on their favorites. I would suggest you copy and paste together your own list from the postings you find in BT. That way you can also get rid of the non-essential (but highly entertaining) comments.

Another site you might want to visit for information is:

You might also want to consider purchasing Jesse Armacost's book Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy. It is a wonderful resource as it gives locations, entry and exit point information, depths and what you might expect to see at each site. It has ratings (ie: easy, advanced) and includes snorkel info also. It is available on island or in advance from www.BonaireReporter.com.

Katie, before I go to Bonaire, I always make a list of dive sites to visit, non-diving activities I want to do, and places I want to eat. Now, I'm a little anal retentive that way, but somehow having it in writing calms my nerves.. lol

PS. I'll see you Vegas in August ! :-)

Katie, the link above gives descriptive information about each site (depth, level-beginner, intermediate, advanced, etc.)

OH, and 2 in my book not to miss are Bari (Sand$ house reef) and Alice In Wonderland (the coral looks like hobbit houses!)

Bob, I love that site. My first time to Bon I printed all of the dive sites out, and then we had a good idea of which ones we wanted to go to!

you really can't go wrong with picking any yellow rock at random, suiting up, and jumping in.

Some double reefs south of the airport are different than the single reefs elsewhere. Current/surge tends to be a bit more the further south or north you go (at either end). The book mentioned above does a good job at telling you the easiest entry if you can't spot it yourself.

There are so many favorites, here's two of ours, one North, one South: Ol' Blue & fisherman's hut.

Fisherman's hut isn't official, but ask around you can get directions to it. Ol' Blue can have some surge, try it when it is calm, until you get used to the entry / exit.

Katie I ditto what Ken and Lisa say; any place any time just get wet and stay that way while your in "Divers Paradise"! Every dive is a new and wondrous experience in an environment that only God can create and lucky men and women can behold. Go slow and enjoy!
