scattered showers won't hurt your vacation! Don't you plan to get wet anyways? :-)

ENJOY!!!

Scattered showers here doesn't mean much. As I was taking the kids to school this morning, the windshield picked up some sprinkles but not enough to wet the glass. Had to use the wipers once to clean up the mess.

'Scattered showers' can also mean that it is raining on the next street or across the island but not where you are. Always warm, too.

Why is it that we divers hate to get wet in rain, even just before or after a dive in the tropics????!!!

Glen, I don't understand that either, I LOVE diving in the rain! I think it feels different, more peaceful or something...

It's percussive therapy Kelly.

Kelly, you're right...it is VERY cool to look up and see it raining on the surface (providing you're diving where you can see the surface from 40+ feet:-))

Seb, I learnt a new word today...thank you, however...I'm slow today....Webster's Online has it this way:

"1 : of or relating to percussion; especially : operative or operated by striking
2 : having powerful impact"

And my Oxford Pocket has this entry (in addition to the music definition)

"forcible striking of one esp. solid body against another."

Can you please essplain it to me (like I said, brain not quite right today...I know, not quite right a LOT of days, but today's ain't real good).

P.S..I purposely used "bad" grammar in some instances above:-)

It's the percs, baby. You got your percussion, your brass, your strings, your woodwinds. Percussive, like percussion, means something's hitting something, like hammers on a piano.
But for percussive therapy, this is what we mostly use:
http://www.ultimatewatermassage.com/massage-tools-bonger.htm
My former chiropractor used to have a great drum head with a holder and handle she could strike it and move it up and down your back it felt so cool. Acupressure is also sometimes referred to as percussive therapy. I think it's pretty percussive when the acupuncturist whacks the needle in you.
Of course, at work it would have a whole different meaning, like whack it to fix it.

"Did it fit?"

"It was all bent up, but after a little
percussive therapy it slid right in"

But I was actually referring more to the calming effect of the rain noise as it hits your gear, and the sedative sound of the rain hitting the water.

Zat splain you LooHoo?

Ahhh...I see now Master...I was thinking through tunnel as one cannot hear rain hitting surface while under the sea...yet...rain hitting gear is most percussive indeed...

Would not the patter of raindrops on my head also be gentle 'percussive therapy'??? But I don't like the rain before or after. Ah, well,we don't always like what is good for us, do we? :–)

I never really understood why the spectacle free much mind the rain at all, Glenn. Unless it's cold rain. I'd rather have sunshine, but the sun can't shine every day.

LooHoo, try sticking them in your pocket next rainstorm and see if you can't get around fine (not suggesting you drive while visually impaired) I have found I can get where I'm going pretty easily and safely with my specs in my pocket, Mr.Magoo notwithstanding. I can't see the big E on the chart without them, but how well do you need to see to do most things?
