Hello everyone,
My husband and I are coming to Bonaire for the first time May 15-22. We will be staying at the CoCo Palms Apts. Everything is in place except for choosing a shop to dive with. We would like to know which shops are most convenient to CoCo Palms and also your experiences with them. Is anyone else from the board staying at CoCo Palms during these dates? Thanks in advance,

Most places have a in-house or associated dive operation. Check with CoCo Palms to see if they have one or if there is one close by.

I am not familiar with the Coco Palms apts after only going to B seven times, however, I can, without reservation, recommend Toucan Divers at the Plaza Resort. We have stayed at Lighthouse Beach Resort (a friend's condo) for the last couple years and used TD for the last three. Just got home last night from B and cannot wait to get back! Six days, unlimited gas and weights, available 24/7: $120usd. The best deal and diving in our sport IMHO. Rent a truck and dive till you drop! Have a blast!!

I would also just use the op that is associated with Coco Palms, I find it easier that way. If they don't have a specific op then almost any of them are fine. A few that come to mind, in no particular order, Wannadivebonaire, Bon Bini, Buddy Dive and Capt Don's. I really have not heard of a bad op on Bonaire.

Herman, I think you're right. I've been following the posts on this board for months now in anticipation of our trip and it seems that most have only praise for all of the dive ops. The way I understand it, Coco Palms is situated right off the Sorobon Rd nearer to Kralendjik. They have an arrangement with Photo Tours and Wannadive, which are well-regarded. I would tend to select for convenience to our location since we are off the beaten path a bit it seems.

Cindy, Photo Tours is the closest of the two dive operators you mentioned. We have been diving with them (and next month again) and have good experiences with them.

Cindy, I like Photo tours as well, we have used them 8 times so far and I don't have any complaints.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Our trip is now just one week away and the pre-Bonaire anticipation is at an all time high! I have turned into a BT addict - I wonder if anyone else has read the ENTIRE trip report archives?
