Is there an appropriate place on here for me to ask for advice on selling my Nikonos V? I'm going to contact the Dive operations individually before we leave next week to head for Bonaire. Any suggestions?

Why are you selling it? It's a great camera.

Amazon is a good place to sell stuff. Do a search on Nikonos and see what the asking prices are.

I'm keeping my Nik V's as long as I can get them serviced.

Suggest trying E-BAY Auctions. I was able to sell my Nik V, lens and strobe and be very satisfied with the arrangement.

Things change. I've taken UW photos for 15 years and with the best Diamond Blenny picture hanging in our "Carribean Bathroom" there doesn't seem to be the same drive to look for a better one. That photo took up one entire dive and came out of 36 pictures of various qualitites. I usually do my first and last dive without a camera and have enjoyed the freedom that brings. Next week I'm going to begin my first dive trip since the beginning, without a camera. I just had this one factory serviced (for $400!) and it seems almost irresponsible to take it out of its factory box when I'm thinking I may not keep it. I've gone digital with my land cameras but don't think I'll even try that underwater. No, I'm just gonna dive and have fun and look BEYOND my six-foot macro-search area. My husband who has patiently hovered around me for these many years of u.w. photography will undoubtedly enjoy some "distance diving" as well. I'll try Amazon and eBay as you folks suggested. Also, I think I will contact the dive shops and take the outfit with me just in case. Thanks, guys, for the feedback.

Do you have any accessory lenses for the Nikonos that you want to sell separately? Or any strobes? I bought a Nikonos V a few months ago with just the basic 35 mm lens. I'm looking for a slave strobe, as well as a 28 mm lens and 15 mm lens. Thanks,,Robyn

Hey Robyn...yes I have a 28mm lens and a close-up kit with two framers: 28mm and 35mm. Also a complete macro kit and a 103 strobe. However, I'd prefer to sell this as a package, I'm sure you'd agree that it would be best for me...thanks for your interest

Freda, did you know that Nikon had a recall on the SB-103 strobe. They say they could explode underwater because of a build up of gases. Nikon replaced it with a brand new SB-105 which I think even has a slave mode. Call up Nikon and ask if they are still doing it.

Freda, I love your attitude. You could try what I do, I have a very small digital camera (internal strobe) that I take diving with me. With this setup I can still be a diver not always a photographer. Because of it's size, it goes under a BC strap most of the time and if I see something good I can still get a high quality photo.

Getting in or out of the water it goes into a BC pocket, where it's safe. Out of the water it fits nicely in a pants pocket. I showed up at Jake's house for a party and Jake asked where was my camera. It was in a pocket, great little toy.

Freda,
I was almost thinking the same thing until I had my most recent Bonaire pix developed. I still think a 35mm such as ours does not compare to a digital camera. I am thinking of getting a digital as a backup by the way.
Cheers,
and happy diving.
