Hello from cold and rarely sunny Pittsburgh PA.
My 13 yr old daughter and I will be at Sand Dollar March 18-24, 2004. Would like to hear from anyone who is going to be on the island at that time with similar aged girl. My kid has a junior certification and she'll probably be sick of seeing me 24/7. Counting the days....

Hi Warren! My husband and I will be at the Sand Dollar March 13-21 with our 11 year old son, also a diver. I know it's not quite the same, esp. at that age, but we dove with another couple and their daughter in Cozumel at Christmas and the two kids got along pretty well! Look us up if she gets bored! We're also interested in knowing which shore dives are easy...and which ones to avoid with a fairly new diver. Can anyone give us some pointers?

My 14 year old son and I will be at Sand Dollar March 17-25. Can't wait! We did our class and pool work here in the Chicago area and will finish our certifications the first 2 days there. Counting down the days...

I started what became a long thread back in December about where to stay. Decided to take a studio at the Sand Dollar, and used their package deal for diving and driving. I appreciate all the advice everyone offered.

I'm sure we'll see you around.

Please post trip reports regarding your dives with your teens. My 13 yr old was certified last summer and I am looking forward to bringing her to Bonaire soon.

Lou Ferigno? as in "the" Lou Ferigno of Mr. Olympia fame?

All, have fun. I'll envy you until the time that I take my daughter down there.

No, not the real Lou. Kind of an inside joke. My real name is Larry F. not too different from Lou Ferigno. Grew up in the 70's when the Hulk was popular.

Anyways, I want to tell everyone that so far I have received first class service from Carol at Sand Dollar and a nice confirmation e-mail from Jerry Ligon at Bonaire Dive and Adventure. I have been very pleased with the attentive responses to my e-mails to them. They really seem like genuinely nice people.

We'll see Warren and his daughter in Bonaire and get a trip report posted when we get back.

Larry
