Tracey, I did a keyword search for "Toucan" and you may want to check these threads out...

A keyword search for Toucan under Diving Bonaire, and Trip Reports will lend a lot of info:-)

Tracey, I stayed at the Plaza in June and used Toucan Divers. I only used them for the shore diving, but they were efficient and timely. They have also received the highest marks in Rodale's magazine and were ranked #1.

We have used Toucan for all three of our trips to Bonaire and just loved them. They are great!

Hi Tracy,
I stayed at the Plaza both in March and December, and I was very pleased with Toucan Divers. I found each and every staff member to be friendly and professional.

We did numerous boat dives with Toucan, and they were always eager to assist us with loading and unloading our gear, they gave us our choice of dive sites, we received very good briefings, and our dives were well-guided.

Last March, we hired Jackson from Toucan Divers to guide our night dive at Town Pier. He gave us a great tour, and pointed out several seahorses, a frogfish, several octopus, and lots more.

When we were diving on the Hilma Hooker in Decmeber, a girl in our group experienced the complete failure of the inflator on her BC and couldn't get off the bottom (it was her own BC, not a rental). Divemaster Ebby from Toucan was quick to spot the problem and safely got her to the surface.

I'm bringing a group of 16 back to Bonaire in August which will include some of my closest friends and dive buddies. We'll be staying at the Plaza, and I'm very confident that my group will receive the best possible service, and will be very pleased with Toucan Divers.

Have a great time in Bonaire! Robyn

Recently (Jan 6-Jan 20 2004) visited Bonaire. Dove with Toucan Dive Shop at the Plaza Hotel this trip. They are the best of all I have dove with. They have 5 big boats with Catapillar V8 Diesel engines (many of the other dive operations use large outboard motors on smaller boats). They go up north to the nice dive sites at the drop of a hat. Dive masters Irwin and Jackson do a beautifully coordinated drift dive like nothing I have ever been on in Bonaire. The whole dive experience with Toucan was laid back and enjoyable. These people are true professionals and polite to the letter. I would recommend them highly. Have dove with three other operators and only one of them even comes close to Toucan.

Happy Diving, D. Paganelli
