From the sounds of the fine folks here, dive boats are not to important. Shore diving is fine with me. My wife does not dive, so I'm on my own. How hard is it to hook up with a dive buddy there to do 2+ tanks a day.

Thanks again

Kevin,

It's usually pretty easy to hook up with a buddy. You may want to do a boat dive and you might meet up with someone on the boat looking as well. Let the dive shop that you will be diving through also know that you are looking for a buddy. Have a great trip....paradise is wonderful!!

Joe, sorry. I'm not going until April/May. I would like to have hooked up with you.

Thanks

Kevin...we left our 18 year old son on the island for 2 weeks by himself. He had no problem knocking off 2-3 tanks a day. And we were at a smaller resort (Eden Beach).

Kevin...you can find a buddy fairly easily, but I don't discount boat diving. Many packages come with unlimited shore diving and a few boats. I usually opt for this because the boats reach interesting spots you cannot easily get to from the shore. Obviously Klein comes to mind, but there are a few up north of interest as well. Rappel is one of my favorites and the boat is the only way to get there. I also find hooking up with dive buddies is easier on the boat, and if you click, can meet for shore diving at other times throughout your stay. Just my take on diving Bonaire.

And for all you BT'ers...I recently dove Thailand and although it was fabulous...I can't wait to get back to Bonaire. The water is sooooooo clear and the critters soooo plentiful on Bonaire. Thai diving doesn't even get close!

Cheers,
John
