A recent trip report said that stinging box jellies were a problem during a night snorkel. Is there any way to avoid these critters? If bitten, what is the antidote? Thanks.

If you wear a full wet suit or lycra skin( to minimize exposed skin) you certainly decrease your chances. They are not common, it was the first time we had a problem, ask the dive shops if there have been any reported. The treatment depends on who you ask....vinigar, baking soda. I found nothing much helped except Aleeve and time.
