This is for all Bonaire addicts. If you had to pick, which would be your favourite 5 snorkel, and favourite 5 dives sites, and why? Levon

You're not catching us with that one Linda. You get in the water & find your own!
I guess snorkelling the Windjammer takes some beating.
My favourite dive site has to be the town pier, simply because there are lots of uninitiated land lubbers there to admire my latest fashion divewear, & gaze in wonder at my fearless plunge into the depths below!
Hope that helps?
I'm sure someone more sensible will come along soon.

I don't have time at the moment to pick 5, but I KNOW my number one favorite dive site is the salt pier !!! Especially with the sun filtering down through the water.. So much to see, so active, and so pretty !!

I would have to agree with Bubbles and say Ol' Blue, also have to say Small Wall, Alice in Wonderland, Bari Reef and Hilma Hooker. Although there are more sites that I have not dove than ones that I have to say that these are my favorites so far.

Andy, I'm bubbling over with anticipation of getting in the water and finding my own favourite spots! Although, I don't know how I'll keep my eyes focused on the beautiful underwater life, with you swimming around in your "latest fashion divewear!" Thanks for sharing! Linda

Sherry and I took the wide angle portion of our U/W Photography specialty at Salt Pier, there was quite a bit of surge so the visability was down a little but other than that it was real nice.

OK Linda. I'm going to try & be sensible here for a few minutes.
It's been mentioned on other threads, but in case you missed it.....you now have to get permission to dive under the Salt Pier, but it's not a problem. Your dive shop will hopefully sort it out for you.
Here's one of my favourites, although I must confess it's beginning to show signs of wear, as it is the house reef of the Plaza resort (called 18th Palm):-
Park & kit up, on the waste ground, near the mosquito infested puddles (sounds inviting, eh?) by the entrance to the Plaza. Just check with the security guy on the gate that it's ok to enter the resort & dive there (I've never had him say no yet). There then follows a 200 yard slog past the "residents" to the entry point. There's a bonus here..... it's another captive audience to "strutt your stuff" infront of, plus many of the ladies are topless! That may, or may not appeal to you, but personally I usually run off more film before I hit the water, than during the dive! Swim out to the bouy & start you dive. Swim down the reef & you should come across a patch of garden eels on the sandy bottom at about 30 metres, on a good day you should be able to see the reef in the distance ahead of you. Cross the sandy bottom & when you reach it turn left & follow the reef (slowly rising to the shallows)which is in a convenient horseshoe shape & will bring you back to where you began your descent. Star attraction here (apart from the great horseshoe dive profile) are the resident Tarpon. I've seen 6 together but many folks claim to have seen 12 or more. You need to do the dive a couple of times to get the feel of the profile, which obviously means an opportunity for more trips past the basking sun worshippers. I usually take a good supply of tissues to wipe the sand off the end of my tongue.
Enjoy!!
