Hi, We will be diving in Bonaire in Nov. I am using a digital camera set up for the first time out of the US. I am thinking of using a jump/pen USB storage drive to save photos. Any other suggestions on storage and are there any internet cafes to rent computer time?

You should be able to upload your photos and burn them to cdr for very reasonable rates at Chat and browse. I got and hour of PC time for eight bucks, and it's a dollar per cdr.

No need to post the same question all over Mike, somebody will answer if you just post once.

Thanks for the info seb. Do you know how up to date Michael's computers are? do they have usb ports, cause a jump drive holds up to 512 mb. (4 of my memory cards). Do you know his number or does he have a web page? Thanks again

Last week, I used Bonaire Access in the Harbourside Mall located in the center of the shopping area. They've got Compaq P4s with 48x CD burners. You need to bring your own USB card reader or USB cord for the camera. They charge $3.00 for 15 minutes + $0.80 per CD. I could read and burn a 512MB card in this amount of time.

Thanks so much for the info. I found Michael's web page too. Has a bit of everything going on, reminds me of Jamaica. Rneer, my wife and I will be at Lions Dive Resort 11/29 - 12/06. Email me and we can hook up. Take care, Mike

Mike, I saw little multicard readers on every computer apparently ready to read most tiny media by the looks of them, if you found the website you can inquire direct from Mike.

I just realized this topic is digital potography, I think that's illegal on Bonaire.

We will be visiting and diving Bonaire in a few weeks. We are very interesting learning the details of burning CD's as a way to store digital photographs. For example, does Chat and Browse have readers for compactflash cards. Do they have software to upload digital pictures from a Nikon coolpics camera? It would be great to make CD's but I need to know if I need to bring anything more than us, our camera and its housing. Thanks.

Visit Michael's web page @ infobonaire.com/chatnbrowse. You will need the usb cable to connect your camera to pc or a media reader for your cards.

Check with Lion's dive shop photo people. Captain Don's (next door) can print your film pix to a CD or make you a T-shirt from a single shot (see their website) so I would assume they could copy your media to CDs for you. If not Lion's or Captain Don's, check Buddy's or maybe Sand Dollar. All within walking distance. Save your time for diving. But I would bring your own card reader, just in case. We were there in September and saw many open air Internet cafes. Many resorts have PCs in their office/lobby area for customer use. Sand Dollar did, but we were there to get AWAY from the Internet, phones and TV.
