hey everyone-

I have read all of the posts on this board and shorediving.com about the drift from la dania to karpata and would like to include it in our trip.
But- how do you know when you reach karpata?-how do you know the exit point? Is this really only a dive to do if you know the area very well?

I am trying not to plan too much for my trip, but would like to have some rough ideas so i don't waste valuable dive time deciding what to do.

a couple of visuals references for coming up on karpata...however, as i understand it, you will probably be a little too shallow to see them towards the end of this drift dive...i guess most folks come up in the 20-25' range to check out turtles as they get to karpata...

one of these days i'm actually gonna do that dive;)

Here's the anchor at Karpata.

Thanks for the advice. the anchor looks like the main point to find, I'm not sure if it will be that easy though. I might do Karpata first to get an idea of the area, then do the drift if currents permit.

Again, thanks for the advice- I will post a review if I succeed!!!

if karpata continues to be as popular as it was in june, you'll be able to mark the exit at karpata with divers...

(yeah, that's actually a pretty good alternate "nav" aid - dive boats and/or other divers)...

again, good luck and enjoy!

There's also the mooring at Karpata for reference...
