Does anybody know how to get there directly from Europe non-stop?

Certainly. There's a weekly flight from Amsterdam to Bonaire on Sundays via KLM. Another (charter - via tour operators only) via Martinair from Amsterdam on Tuesdays, and on Wednesdays there's a charter Sobelair flight from Belgium (contact van der Valk Travel).

You can also get here to Bonaire via Curacao and Caracas, and starting at the end of this month you can connect on Saturdays from Montego Bay, Jamaica (with feeders from all over the world).

Do you know which tour operators work with Martinair? I had great difficulty booking my trip in August: almost every place was booked in the regular flights!

Actually, the all-new InfoBonaire Web site contains a very complete list of tour operators at http://www.InfoBonaire.com/html/touroperators.html

Anyone any recent experiences with getting to Bonaire from England?
There was a 'horror story' on 'Watchdog' (a consumer programme)a few weeks ago about Schipol being about the worst place in the world regarding losing luggage - so the KLM option via there is looking even less inviting! But I definitely dont want to travel via Miami!

Check with Air Jamaica. The have a daily flight to Montego Bay from London and then a direct to Bonaire on Wed and Saturday. www.airjamaica.com Let me know what happens.

Thanks for the suggestion.
A quick look indicates it would mean a two night stop-over in Jamaica as the flight from UK (daily but not Tues and Friday) arrives at 5.55 pm.
Seems as if KLM via Amsterdam might be the only realistic option.

Rita
If you've not yet made your travel plans and can wait a few weeks we're travelling to Bonaire from Heathrow via Amsterdam on 9 March. We'll let you know how we got on when we return.

Thanks - I'll be very interested!
Looks as if we wont get to Bonaire this year anyway but I shall continue my research with a view to 2002!
We've opted for a direct flight to Antigua for a week in May.
Maybe we should make a virtue of necessity and regard the travelling as 'holidays' and have 2 or 3 day stopovers each way.
